Falcons Score Big in Day Two Against Northland

RIVER FALLS, Wis. (uwrfsports.com) – The UW-River Falls women's hockey team had another twelve goal day defeating Northland College 12-1 Saturday afternoon at Hunt Arena.

HOW IT HAPPENED AGAINST NORTHLAND
  • Abigail Stow scored four goals on the day including a hat trick in the second period.  Her first goal came in the first period at 13:45 on a pass from Callie Hoff.  She followed it up with three goals in the second period for a four goal day.
  • Alyson Niebur and Brooke Water each had a pair of goals in the game.  Niebur scored a power play goal in the final minute of the first period and then another goal in the third.
  • Waters scored the third goal of the first period for the Falcons and then scored the final goal of the game at 13:12 in the third period. 
  • Jessica Rubenalt got the Falcons on the board first with a goal at 4:02 in the first period.  She was assisted on the play by Kora Torkelson and Hailey Herdine,
  • Kiana Gilbraith ripped a top shelf goal from the blue line to give the Falcons a 5-1 lead heading into the second period.
  • Bella Wagner recorded a goal in the second period on a power play opportunity.  Her goal was the seventh goal of the afternoon for the Falcons.
  • Same Young had a single goal in the third period.  Assisting her on the goal was Jessica Rubenalt.
  • The Falcons had 49 shots on goal compared to the Jills nine.  Stow led the offense with six points.  She had four goals and two assists on the day.
  • Kendra Carlson collected her first win of the season in goal. 
 
LOOKING AHEAD
The Falcons travel to the University of St. Thomas February 5 to take on the Tommies in a nonconference matchup.  Puck drop is 7 p.m. in St. Paul.
