Women's Basketball Lose at Home

RIVER FALLS, Wis. (uwrfsports.com) – The women's basketball team lost at home on Wednesday night against UW-Eau Claire.

WHAT HAPPENED
  • The Falcons shot 33.3 percent from the field in the first half, hitting 9-27, including 5-11 from three point.
  • Cassie Heinrichs led the Falcons in the first half scoring seven points on 3-8 shooting from the field.
  • The Falcons scored six points off the bench overall, two in the first half. 
  • The Falcons went into halftime trailing 25-29. 
  • UWRF shot 45 percent in the second half overall, making 9-20 field goals and making 3-8 three-pointers (37.5 percent).
  • Haley DeSouza led the Falcons in the second half with seven points on 3-4 shooting.
  • The Falcons finished the game with 16 points in the paint, eight in the second half.
  • The Falcons also scored 11 points off of 13 Blugold turnovers.
  • River Falls finished the game with 22 rebounds and seven steals.

  • Heinrichs led the Falcons with 13 points off of 5-13 shooting from the field, including 3-5 from three point.  She also recorded three steals.
  • DeSouza finished the game with 10 points on the night.
  • UWRF made 18-47 shots (38.3 percent) from the floor in the loss. They went 8-19 from behind the arc (42.1 percent), and hit 4-8 free throws (50 percent).

THE OPPOSITION
  • Eau Claire was led by Anna Graaskamp with 21points.
  • From the field, the Blugolds made 27-60 (45 percent) and 4-14 (28.6 percent) from behind the arc.  They also shot 72.7 percent from the free throw line (8-11).
