RIVER FALLS, Wis. (uwrfsports.com) – The UW-River Falls women's hockey team shut out UW-Superior in game one of the WIAC Championship semifinals.

HOW IT HAPPENED AGAINST UW-SUPERIOR
- The first period was scoreless for both teams. The Yellowjackets put the pressure on offensively outshooting the Falcons 8-3 in the first period.
- The Falcons scored a lone goal seventeen seconds into the second period. Assisting her on the goal was Callie Hoff.
- In the third period, the Falcons put thirteen shots on goal but the Yellowjacket goaltender stayed strong not allowing a goal to score.
- The Falcons outshot the Yellowjackets 24-17. Callie Hoff had five shots on goal.
- Sami Miller stopped 17 of 17 shots.
LOOKING AHEAD
The Falcons host UW-Superior in day two of the semifinals Saturday at 2:05 pm. With a win Saturday the Falcons will advance to the WIAC Championships the following weekend.
