MADISON, Wis. – The No. 22-ranked University of Wisconsin-River Falls football team has been selected to participate in the inaugural Culver's Isthmus Bowl, set to face Washington-University St. Louis on Saturday, Nov. 20, at Verona Area High School in Verona, Wis.
 
The bowl game features the top two teams from the Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (WIAC) and the College Conference of Illinois and Wisconsin (CCIW) that did not make the NCAA Playoffs. The Falcons and Bears each finished third in their respective league's standings.
 
UWRF, who jumped up to No. 22 in today's D3football.com release of the Top 25 poll, received votes in the national rankings for six consecutive weeks prior, capped off the regular season with a 28-21 win over Wisconsin-Oshkosh on Saturday, Nov. 13 in Oshkosh, Wis., the first win over the Titans since 2005.
 
The Falcons finished the season with an 8-2 overall record and 5-2 WIAC ledger, the most wins since the 1996 season in which the team reached the NCAA postseason.
 
The bowl game marks the first postseason college bowl game in Wisconsin state history and the first bowl game in UW-River Falls football program history.
