Falcons Shooting Goes Cold in Second Half

It was offensive fireworks in the fist half as the Falcons poured in 41 points, but the shooting went cold late and the #15 Blugolds pulled away to win 75-57 at Page Arena.

The two teams went back and forth throughout the first quarter with UW-Eau Claire pulling slightly ahead after ten minutes, 18-13. The Falcons came out on fire in the second quarter, sinking two three-pointers within the first two minutes of the quarter and would hit five total during the stanza. After yet another back and forth battle between the two teams, it was the Falcons who closed the quarter on a 16-4 run, including a buzzer beating three by Haley DeSouza, to go into the break up 41-32.

The Falcons were ready to continue the aggressive offense, however, throughout the second half, the Falcons' shots were not falling. UW-Eau Claire was able to chip away at the lead and found themselves ahead by three heading into the fourth quarter. In that final quarter, the Falcons ran out of gas the Blugolds took full advantage, outscoring the home team by 15 points to come away with the 75-57 win.
