Game Recap: Men's Basketball |

Short-Handed Falcons Fall on Road

Down two starters due to contact tracing in connection to a previous opponent, the Falcons took on the Pointers of UW–Stevens Point on the road and fell 98-65.

UW–Stevens Point won the tip and scored, but the Falcons came back with a layup of their own by Alex Ohde. Unfortunately, this was the last time the Falcons would tie the game. Five minutes into the first half, the Pointers went on a 12-0 run, putting the Falcons behind the eight ball for the rest of the night. Shortly after, the Falcons were able to get the deficit back into single digits, but the Pointers' offense was already rolling. When the halftime horn sounded, it was the home team leading 53-35.

The second half was much of the same as the Pointers offensive rhythm kept humming along, shooting a blistering 59% from the field and hitting 14 three-pointers on the night. Despite a good offensive effort from Jake Reeck, who scored a career-high 17 points, the Falcons fell by a final score of 98-65.

Junior Austin Werdin scored 16 points on 7-of-9 shooting, and Ohde recorded another double-double with 15 points and 12 rebounds. Ohde has now recorded a double-double in every game this season and leads the WIAC in rebounds with 12.8 per game, two more per game then the next closest player.

The Falcons will play on Friday, February 26, for their final regular season home game against UW-Stevens Point. Tipoff is set for 6pm.
