ST. PAUL, Minn. – The University of Wisconsin-River Falls women's soccer team fell 4-0 at Hamline University during the 2021 opener.
The game was limited to 70 minutes due to darkness at Paterson Field.
A trio of Piper goals in the first half gave the home team a large enough cushion to secure the victory, adding another at the 60
th minute.
Hamline limited the Falcons to just a pair of shots on goal, both coming from sophomore forward
Madyson Shew. After allowing 14 Piper shots in the first half, UWRF limited the home team to four in the second frame.
A pair of freshmen goalkeepers shared minutes in goal for UWRF, with
Jolivia Gallegos starting and tallying six saves while suffering the loss.
Grace Zellmer played 13 minutes in relief.
