Football Wraps Up Nonconference Play at Northwestern

RIVER FALLS, Wis. - The University of Wisconsin-River Falls football team will conclude its 2021 nonconference schedule this Saturday, Sept. 18 at the University of Northwestern in St. Paul, Minn. Kickoff is slated for 6 p.m.

THE SERIES
Saturday will mark third meeting between the Falcons and Eagles, with the record knotted at 1-1. UWRF and UNW met in 2008 and 2009, with the Falcons prevailing 20-17 in St. Paul during the most recent matchup.

LAST TIME OUT
The Falcons earned a 49-33 road victory at Hendrix College in Conway, Ark., last Saturday, who received votes in the Week 1 d3football.com Top 25 poll. 

While improving to 2-0, the Falcons compiled 514 yards of total offense while limiting the Warriors to 380. Luke Fugate rushed for pair of touchdowns and tallied one through the air en route to receiving the Royal Credit Union Male Falcon of the Week. Defensively, Aaron Borgerding had two interceptions and Kwashon Collins had two sacks.

FALCON NOTES
  • UWRF's average of 47 points through two games leads the WIAC.
    • Falcon kicker Cade Henry is 13-for-13 on PAT attempts to lead the WIAC.
    • Linebackers Isaiah Karels and Kwashon Collins rank second and third, respectively, in the WIAC, in tackles for loss yards with 41 and 24.
    • Defensive backs Calvin Rosen and Dylan Brown share the WIAC-lead with four pass breakups each.
  • Luke Fugate leads UWRF with 204 rushing yards and three rushing scores.
  • Kole Hinrichsen has totaled 481 yards through the air with five passing touchdowns.
  • Andy Groebner leads the Falcon receiving core with eight catches for 155 yards and four touchdowns.
