RIVER FALLS, Wis. – The UW-River Falls volleyball team battled No. 12 UW-Eau Claire Wednesday night in their WAIC opener at Page Arena.
In set one, the Falcons showed their strongest performance of the night out hitting the Blugolds .306 to .297. The Blugolds came out to an early 4-1 lead, but the Falcons rallied back to tie it up 4-4. They continued to hang with Eau Claire till the final set point eventually falling 21-25.
The second and third sets went in favor of the Blugolds as they won 25-19 and 25-18. Leading the offense was
Kameri Meredith with 13 kills. She added 11 digs to the night for a double double.
Brooke Voigt led the defense with 13 digs.
"We played a really competitive game against a great team," said Coach Ford. "I'm proud of the way we competed tonight."
