RIVER FALLS, Wis. – The University of Wisconsin-River Falls women's soccer team defeated Bethany Lutheran College 1-0 on Saturday afternoon at Ramer Soccer Stadium, with
Haley James scoring just under four minutes into the first overtime period.
James, a freshman defender from Stillwater, Minn., scored her first goal as a Falcon at the 93rd minute, cleaning up a rebound in the box not long after a UWRF corner kick opportunity.
UWRF's third consecutive win and shutout improves the team's overall record to 4-4. The Falcon are now 6-0 in the series against Bethany Lutheran, with each win coming in shutout fashion.
The Falcons maintained the majority of possession throughout the contest, claiming a 20-5 lead in shots. BLC led in corner kicks, 5-4. A physical competition led to 21 total fouls.
Alexis Peterson led the Falcons with a season-high six shots on goal.
Kaylie Krueger started in net and made a pair of saves en route to her fourth win of the season and second shutout.
