RIVER FALLS, Wis. – The University of Wisconsin-River Falls women's soccer team had its three-game winning streak snapped with a 1-0 loss against Simpson College Sunday afternoon at Ramer Soccer Stadium.
The Falcons, now 4-5 overall, were out-chanced by the Storm throughout the match while the visitors scored the game-winner at the 57th minute. Abby Cozzoni finished on a ball that hit traffic after a corner kick opportunity.
Simpson led 10-1 in shots after the first half, pinning the Falcons in their zone for the majority of the half. UWRF turned away five Simpson corner kicks while
Kaylie Krueger made four saves.
The home team answered with more offensive chances in the second half, compiling a pair of corner kicks and six shots, but were unable to get one past Simpson goalkeeper Brenny Frederick.
Krueger made three more saves in the second half while taking the loss.
Alexis Peterson had two shots for the team lead.
