Falcons and Saints Play to 1-1 Draw

RIVER FALLS, Wis. – The UW-River Falls women's soccer team played the College of St. Scholastica to a 1-1 draw after two overtimes at Ramer Soccer Stadium Wednesday afternoon.

A back-and-forth competitive match led to a combined 41 shots, with UWRF leading 21-20 in total shot attempts while the Saints led 13-11 in shots on goal.

The home team took a 1-0 lead at the 20th minute with Moya Murray's first goal of the season, assisted by Amber Krohn.

While making her second start of the season in goal, Grace Zellmer made a pair of stellar saves in the first half, four total, preserving the 1-0 Falcon lead heading into the break.

CSS broke the Falcon shutout with under 10 minutes remaining in the contest, scoring at the 81st minute to knot the score at 1-1. Neither team could break the draw through two overtime periods.

Zellmer finished the game with 12 saves, the most by a Falcon goalkeeper since Haley Crosby also tallied 12 saves against UW-Stevens Point in 2019. Alexis Peterson had a team-high 10 shots, three on target.

The Falcons and Saints competed in a shootout following the second overtime to battle for the programs' traveling trophy, in which CSS prevailed 4-3.
