RIVER FALLS, Wis. – The UW-River Falls women's basketball team fell 68-39 against UW-La Crosse Wednesday evening at Page Arena.
The Eagles played strong defense and limited UWRF to a season-low .185 field goal percentage and point total.
After trailing 28-21 after the first half, the Falcons struggled in the second half as the Eagles opened the third quarter on a 16-1 run. Macy Nilsen led a 7-4 run to close out the third quarter, but UWL led 48-29 heading into the final 10 minutes and cruised to victory.
Nilsen led the Falcons with 12 points and four rebounds.
UWRF shot 14-of-19 at the free throw line, its most free throws made since Nov. 27.
The Falcons, now 7-6 overall and 0-4 during WIAC play, hits the road to face No. 8-ranked UW-Whitewater on Saturday, Jan. 15.
