RIVER FALLS, Wis. - The UW-River Falls men's and women's track & field teams are set to open the 2022 indoor season schedule this Saturday, Jan. 22 in Menomonie, Wis., at the UW-Stout Open.
The meet is scheduled to begin at 11 a.m. with field events, followed by track events at 11:30 a.m.
UWRF will be competing against athletes from UW-Stout, UW-La Crosse, Winona State, St. Cloud State, Crown College, Viterbo, Bethany Lutheran, and Concordia-St. Paul.

NEW ERA OF FALCON TRACK & FIELD
The 2022 Falcons will be led by first-year head coach
Andy Eggerth, who was hired in August of 2021 and brings 21 years of coaching experience to River Falls, including stops at a trio of Division I schools. Most recently, he served as the jumps and combined events coach at the University of Texas Rio Grande Valley for two seasons. He helped guide UTRGV to a combined four third place finishes at Western Athletic Conference Championships, including the top three finishes in the women's long jump at the WAC Outdoor Championships in 2021.
LAST SEASON
- In 2021, the WIAC Indoor Championships were canceled due to COVID-19.Â
- At the 2021 Outdoor Championships, hosted by UWRF, the men finished in eighth place while the women placed fifth.Â
- The men return All-Conference sprinter Dylan Wachter while the women will be led by Lexi LeFever, who won the 2021 WIAC Outdoor long jump and went on to finish as the long jump runner up at the DIII Outdoor National Championships.
