RIVER FALLS, Wisconsin – The UW-River Falls men's hockey team bounced back with a 3-1 WIAC win over Northland College Saturday night at Hunt Arena.
The Falcons scored their first goal at 12:00 after
Jack Kilroy rebounded a
Josh Arnold saved shot to the back of the net. Northland wasted no time tying the game up 1-1 thirty seconds later.
Noah Ganske had a chance in the first period to give the Falcons a 2-1 lead but was called for goalie interference and his goal was reversed.
The Falcons started the second period with a goal by
Caleb Anderson at 1:31. Assisting him on the play was
Cayden Cahill and
Josh Martin.
With fifty-five seconds remaining in the game, the Lumber Jacks pulled their goalie for an extra offensive player leaving the goal open for
Cayden Cahill to score the final goal of the night at 19:34.
UWRF outshot the Lumber Jacks 31-9.
Dean Buchholz recorded his third win of the season stopping eight shots.
The Falcons host UW-Superior Friday February 4 at Hunt Arena. Puck drop is set for 7:05 p.m.
