UWRF women's hoops falls at UW-Oshkosh

OSHKOSH, Wis. – The UW-River Falls women's basketball team fell 79-42 at UW-Oshkosh Saturday afternoon.

With the loss, the Falcons' overall record falls to 9-9 overall and snaps the team's two-game winning streak. The result doesn't count towards the WIAC standings due to league COVID rescheduling protocols. The conference game was originally scheduled for Jan. 8 and was canceled.

The Titans opened the game leading 7-0 in the first couple minutes and led throughout the night as the two teams met for the first non-conference game in the series history.

In the first half, UWRF shot 11-of-26 from the field and 5-for-11 from beyond the arc, while the Titans shot nearly 60 percent and led 44-30 at the intermission.

Oshkosh was strong defensively in the second half, limiting the Falcons to just 12 points.

Jenna Zeman led the Falcons with 14 points, followed by a career-high nine points from Olivia Miron off the bench.

The Falcons return to Page Arena next Wednesday, Feb. 2 to host nationally ranked UW-Eau Claire.
