LAST TIME OUT
  • UWRF improved to 4-1 overall and 2-0 in the WIAC with a 27-24 win over No. 15/16-ranked UW-Oshkosh on Saturday, Oct. 8 in River Falls.
  • Michael Brown's second consecutive game with a pair of interceptions sealed the win for the Falcons, as his second of the game with second left in regulation turned over a Titan fourth down try, and UWRF was able to run out the clock for the victory.
  • For the fifth game in a row, UWRF held its opponent to under 100 rushing yards, limiting UWO to 90 yards on the ground. The Falcons compiled compiled 392 yards of total offense and 26 first downs. 
THE SERIES
  • Saturday's contest marks the 65th all-time matchup between the Falcons and Pioneers, with UW-River Falls holding a 34-28-2 series advantage.
  • Last season, the Falcons defeated the Pioneers 31-28 in River Falls.

  • The Falcons moved up to No. 14 in this week's D3football.com Top 25 Poll and No. 15 in the AFCA Coaches' Poll.

FALCONS GARNER WEEKLY AWARDS
  • Kaleb Blaha and Michael Brown were named the WIAC Offensive and Defensive Players of the Week, along with Brown being named to the D3football.com Team of the Week.
    • Blaha compiled 315 yards of total offense versus Oshkosh, passing for 172 yards with one touchdown through the air, and rushing for two scores with 143 net yards on the ground. 
    • Brown collected a pair of vital interceptions in the fourth quarter to take away any Titan comeback chances while preserving UWRF's three-point lead
  • In addition, kicker Justin Scheberl was named the UWRF Male Falcon of the Week after kicking the game-winning field goal against Oshkosh.
FALCON NOTES
  • UWRF owns the top scoring offense in the WIAC and ranks fifth nationally with 536.4 yards of total offense per game.
    • The Falcons also lead the WIAC and rank among the top-10 in NCAA DIII in rushing offense (262.6 yards per game), scoring offense (48 points per game), rushing defense (42.2 yards against per game), and total first downs (147).
  • Kaleb Blaha ranks 10th nationally and leads the WIAC with 310.6 yards of total offense per game. He's also the league's leading rusher with 528 rushing yards, averaging 105.6 yards per game with seven touchdowns.
    • Michael Krueger and Blaha are tied for the WIAC scoring lead with seven touchdowns each.
  • Defensively, Andrew Schumacher and Michael Brown are conference leaders.
    • Schumacher leads the WIAC in passes defended with four pass breakups and two interceptions.
    • Brown leads the league with four interceptions. He's claimed a pair each in the last two games.
