MENOMONIE, Wis. – The UW-River Falls volleyball team picked up their first WIAC conference win of the season defeating UW-Stout in five sets, 18-25, 22-25, 27-25, 25-15, 15-12.
The Blue Devils took the first two sets holding the Falcons to a .054 hitting percentage in the first set and a .108 in the second. The third set extra point win gave the Falcons the momentum to pull out wins in the fourth and fifth set.
Stout jumped to a quick lead in the third set taking a 7-1 lead, but UWRF scratched back with back to back kills and a pair of service aces by
Sami Hilley to take the lead.
The Falcons compiled a .126 hitting percentage with 61 kills.
Sami Hilley led the team with 19 kills, while
Kameri Meredith compiled 20 digs.
The Falcons, now 17-10 and 1-5 in WIAC play, travel to the Elmhurst Tournament. First match of the weekend will be a rematch again Carthage Friday night.
