ELMHURST, Ill. – The UW-River Falls volleyball team picked up two wins Friday night at the Elmhurst College Tournament.
UW-River Falls 3, Carthage 0
After getting swept by Carthage in their first meeting earlier this fall the Falcons came out in full force turning the tables and sweeping the Firebirds in three, 25-20, 25-18 and 25-21.
The Falcons hit an impressive .306 hitting percentage and collected 45 kills. Their best set came in the second when they hit .382 as a team.
Katie Koerper led the Falcons offensively with 11 kills and
Brenna Olson led the defense with nine digs.

Match two of the night started with a marathon first set with Elmhurst winning 34-32.
The Falcons won the next two sets 26-24 and 25-22. Elmhurst came back in the fourth set winning 25-20 forcing a late night fifth set. In the fifth set the Falcons held Elmhurst to a -.100 hitting percentage to win 15-11.
The Falcons collected 62 kills and hit .108. Leading the offense was
Sami Hilley who hit .395 with 18 kills.
Brenna Olson carried the defense with 21 digs.
The Falcons finish out day two of the Elmhurst tournament facing Ohio Wesleyan and No. 22 Albion Saturday morning.
