Volleyball Splits on Day Two

ELMHURST, Ill. – The UW-River Falls volleyball team split matches on the final day of the Elmhurst College Tournament.  The Falcons defeated Ohio Wesleyan 3-1 before falling to No. 22 Albion 1-3.

After a slow start in the first set, the Falcons came back winning the final three sets of the match 25-17, 27-25, 25-22.

The Falcons outhit Ohio Wesleyan .175 to .104 and collected 56 kills. 

Katie Koerper and Sami Hilley each collected a team high 14 kills.  Hilley's performance garnered her a .400 attack percentage.   Kameri Meredith led the team in digs with 17 followed by Brenna Olson with 16.
 
Albion 3, UW-River Falls 1
The No. 22 Britons were too much of match for the Falcons as they won in four, 25-19, 23-25, 25-23, and 25-22.

In the second set, the Falcons fell behind early but came back with an eight-point run.  They continued to trade leads with the Britions until the last two points when Kameri Meredith and Kate Seymour captured the set with back to back kills. 

For the second game in a row Sami Hilley led the offense with 18 kills.  Kameri Meredith collected her first double double of the weekend hitting 14 kills and digging 20 balls.  Brenna Olson had a team high 24 digs.      

The Falcons host St. Olaf Wednesday October 26 in a nonconference matchup at Page Arena.
