NAPERVILLE, Ill. – The UW-River Falls volleyball team took another split on day two of their Illinois tour. The Falcons defeated Alma College in match one and then fell to North Central College 1-3 in match two.
UW-River Falls 3, Alma 0
The Falcons started Saturday morning with another three set shutout defeating Alma College 25-18, 25-14, and 25-18.
UWRF hit .190 collecting 43 kills while holding Alma to just 23 kills and a .050 hitting percentage.
Kameri Meredith continued her dominance on the court leading the Falcons in both offensive and defensive categories. She collected 12 kills and 20 digs.
Sami Hilley hit and impressive .692 in her 13 total attempts.
North Central 3, UW-River Falls 1
North Central took the first two sets defeating the Falcons 25-11 and 25-22. The Falcons outhit the Cardinals in the second set .364 to .333
UWRF took the third set 25-23 after hitting a match high 19 kills for a .286 hitting percentage. North Central answered back in the forth winning 25-20.
Overall the Falcons hit .222 and collected 57 kills. Leading the offense was
Sami Hilley who collected 14 kills and hit .667.
Kameri Meredith led the defense with 16 digs.
The Falcons continue WIAC as they head to UW-Oshkosh Saturday October 15.
