DULUTH, Minn. – The No. 6-ranked UW-River Falls women's hockey team won its fourth consecutive game with a 5-1 victory the College of St. Scholastica Tuesday evening.
The Falcons, now 4-1 overall, outshot the Saints 38-28 and had four different goal scorers.
Three of UWRF's five goals came in the first 20 minutes.
Bailey Olson scored her third of the season six minutes in before
Megan Goodreau scored on the power play, the eventual game-winner.
Maddie McCollins added on to the lead to give the visitors a 3-1 lead after the first period.
Sami Miller and the Falcon defense held CSS scoreless in the final two frames, and a goal from
Challis Prohaska along with an empty-net goal from
Alex Hantge added insurance late in regulation.
Miller tallied a season-high 27 saves to earn the win, improving her record to 3-0 on the year.
Aubrey Nelvin and
Abigail Stow each had two assists.
The Falcons return to Hunt Arena to host No. 8-ranked UW-Eau Claire this Saturday.
