NEWBERG, Ore. – The UW-River Falls women's basketball team with a 49-44 victory at George Fox University Friday evening.
UWRF shot 15-of-45 from the field while out-rebounding the Bruins 35-25.
Macy Nilsen led the Falcons with 13 points while
Annie Feine tallied a team-high seven rebounds.
Goerge Fox led 30-8 in the paint but UWRF shot 7-of-22 from beyond the arc, led by a trio from
Zoey Buchan and two each by
Julia Seidel and Nilsen. Seidel hit a key three-pointer with three minutes left in regulation to put the Falcons up 47-36 and then sank a pair of free throws late to stave off a Bruins comeback attempt.
UWRF owned the lead for over 32 minutes of regulation and led by as many as 12 when a Nilsen jumper gave the Falcons a 44-32 lead early into the fourth quarter.
The Falcons, now 3-1 overall, head to Portland to face Lewis & Clark College tomorrow afternoon.
