PORTLAND, Ore. – The UW-River Falls women's basketball team won by a score of 86-65 at Lewis & Clark College Saturday night.
The Falcons, now 4-1 overall, went 2-0 during its Pacific road trip in Oregon after also defeating George Fox University on Friday.
UWRF compiled a season-high 13 three-point field goals, led by
Zoey Buchan's 4-of-5 night from beyond the arc.
Macy Nilsen led the team with 17 points, followed by a career-high 15 from
Kameri Meredith and 14 from Buchan.
The Falcons shot just under 50 percent from the field on the game, including 10-of-20 and 5-for-5 from long-range in the second quarter as they earned a 50-37 halftime lead. A
Macy Nilsen jumper with under 30 seconds remaining in the half gave UWRF its largest lead during the first 20 minutes, a 13-point advantage.
UWRF scored 21 in the third quarter to maintain its double-digit lead, in which they held throughout the second half. The Falcons held Lewis & Clark to 33.3 percent shooting in the second half and led by as many as 26 with a
Taylor Crissinger jumper early in the final frame.
A collective effort from the Falcons led to 49 points off the bench, with 12 Falcons in the scoring column.
