RIVER FALLS, Wis. – The UW-River Falls women's basketball team defeated Northland College 74-43 Saturday afternoon at Page Arena.
The Falcons improved to 5-1 overall with the win, compiling a season-high 55 rebounds. 12 Falcons were in the scoring column as the team shot 29-of-79 from the field and 11-of-28 from beyond the arc.
Kameri Meredith led the Falcons with 13 points, followed by 12 from
Zoey Buchan and 11 from
Macy Nilsen. Meredith, Nilsen, and
Annie Feine shared the team-lead with six rebounds each.
In the first quarter, UWRF shot nearly 60 percent and jumped out to a 31-10 lead. Three consecutive triples gave the Falcons a 21-8 lead seven minutes in, enough room for UWRF to coast to victory.
UWRF led by as many as 43 with a Buchan three-pointer near the end of the third quarter.
The Falcons head into WIAC play next Wednesday at UW-Eau Claire.
