IN THE POLLS
  • UWRF was slotted at No. 7 in the USCHO Division III Women's Hockey Preseason Poll, garnering 180 points.
  • The Falcons were picked to finish first in the WIAC Preseason Poll, as voted on by the league's head coaches and sports information directors.
    • Last season, UWRF posted its conference-best eighth first-place finish last season and won the WIAC Tournament (O'Brien Cup) for the seventh time. UWRF's 27 victories a season ago established a program record and the Falcons received a NCAA bid for the 13th time in program archives. UW-River Falls also put together a conference-best 20-game winning streak.
FALCON NOTES
  • The Falcons are coming off a program-record 27 wins last season, reaching the NCAA Tournament for the 13th time in program history. 
  • UWRF opened 2022-23 last Saturday at Hunt Arena, falling 4-3 to Augsburg University.
    • Falcon freshman Kailey Niccum scored her first collegiate goals, while Kaitlyn Ronn added her first collegiate point with an assist.
    • Bailey Olson and Emma Schmitz led the Falcons with three points each, both scoring a goal with two assists versus the Auggies.
