SUPERIOR, Wis. – The UW-River Falls women's basketball team won by a score of 61-49 Friday afternoon during its first of two games at the UW-Superior Shootout Holiday Classic.
With their fifth consecutive win, the Falcons improve to 10-2 overall, and will face UW-Superior tomorrow at 3:30 p.m.
Macy Nilsen led the Falcons with 16 points, followed by a season-high 15 from
Karleigh Creasey.
Paige Pearson added a team-high seven rebounds and four steals off the bench.
Trailing 15-8 after the first 10 minutes, UWRF scored 23 in the second quarter off a 9-of-18 shooting clip to claim a 31-23 halftime lead.
Finlandia came within two points of the Falcon lead twice in the third quarter before the Falcons ran away with the victory late, extending their lead to double-digits with a
Cassie Heinrichs triple with just under a minute left in regulation.
