NORTHFIELD, Minn. – The UW-River Falls men's and women's track & field teams competed the Meet of the Hearts Saturday, hosted by Carleton College, in its last meet before the WIAC Indoor Championships.
The women were paced by five top finishes, including a season-best 4x400-meter relay time of 4:06.29 from
Sarah Hansen,
Sarah Langlois,
Megan Halbach, and
Lexi LeFever.
Langlois and LeFever also combined for three more UWRF top finishes. Langlois won the 400-meter dash with a time of 1:01.46, while LeFever won both the 55-meter dash with a time of 7.24 and the long jump with a mark of 18 feet, one inch.
Kimi Robertson won the pole vault at 11-6.25 and was also the 55-meter hurdles runner-up, clocking 8.90.
Jackie Rosenbush led the Falcon women's throwers, placed third in the weight throw (45-5.25) and fifth in the shot put (36-1.5).
On the men's side,
Dylan Wachter won the 800-meter run, taking first of 19 runners with a time of 2:00.20. He was also part of the second place 4x4 team with
Matt Boche,
Jake Lawrence, and
Trever Jensen that clocked a season-best time of 3:31.50.
Charlie Theis had a solid day, competing in three events with top-four finishes in each. He was third in the long jump (20-9.75), third in the triple jump with a personal best mark of 43-9.25 and took fourth in the 55-meter hurdles at 8.48.
The Falcons now prepare to compete at the WIAC Indoor Championships, Feb. 25-26 in Platteville, Wis.
