STEVENS POINT, Wis. – The UW-River Falls men's basketball team wrapped up the regular season with a 94-53 victory at UW-Stevens Point.
UWRF's record improves to 13-9 overall and 6-7 during WIAC competition. Seeds for the WIAC Tournament will be announced shortly, with the first round taking place on Friday, Feb. 18.
The Falcons shot a season-high 57 percent from the field, 56 percent from beyond the arc, and tied a season-high with 14 made three-pointers and 11 steals, leading to a season-high point total.
Four Falcons scored in double figures, led by
Jake Reeck's career-high 18 points off 5-of-9 shooting from long-range.
Rodrick Payne recorded a double-double with 14 points and 10 rebounds.
Noah Hanson scored 17 and
Marshall Holland added 11.
Bryce Phillips led the Falcons with seven assists.
UWRF gained a double-digit lead just over three minutes into the game with a Holland triple, and didn't look back, leading for the remainder of the contest. The Falcons shot over 60 percent in the first half and led by as many as 34 after a trio of Reeck free throws gave the Falcons a 52-18 lead.
UWSP held the Falcons' scoring margin to eight in the second half, but the visitors led by at least 30 throughout regulation.
