RIVER FALLS, Wis. – The UW-River Falls men's and women's track & field teams wrapped up its sole home meet of the indoor season on Saturday at Knowles Fieldhouse, collecting several personal bests and top finishes.
The Falcon men compiled three first place finishes in the Distance Medley Relay, 400-meter dash, and 800-meter run.
Sam Peters,
Caleb Anton,
Christian Hjelman, and
Eric Ottosen won the DMR with a time of 11:29.53.
In the 400-meter dash,
Dylan Wachter placed first of 13 runners with a time of 51.13. He also helped the 4x400-meter team of
Matt Boche,
Jake Lawrence, and
Trever Jensen finish second of five teams with a UWRF season-best time of 3:34.44.
Kyle McCullough won the 800-meter with a time of 2:03.77.
Peter Place and
Brady Sindelir led the Falcons men's throwers. Place had a personal best weight throw of 48 feet, 11.5 inches, while Sindelir took fourth of 24 shot put throwers at 42-8.
Additionally,
Charlie Theis had a runner-up long jump and PR at 20-11.25 and
Trever Jensen finished third of 26 in the 200-meter dash with a time of 23.49.
The UWRF women's team collected six first place marks, including three events in which UWRF earned the top three finishes: 800m, 200m, and 3,000m.
Kimi Robertson won both the pole vault at 11-2.5 and the 60-meter hurdles, clocking 9.58.
Megan Halbach's time of 2:35.76 won the 800-meter run, followed by
Maria Laudenbach and
Sammy Braunlich by a span of four seconds.
In the 200-meter sash,
Lexi LeFever led the trio of Sarah Langois and
Sarah Hansen, finished first at 25.47.
Lauren Flynn won the 3,000-meter run at 11:28.75, with teammates
Maddie Greelis and
Jaclyn Stumpf finishing behind her.
UWRF capped off the day a first place 4x400-meter relay time of 4:33.35, the team of
Z Jiardini,
Sammy Braunlich,
Cailyn Kuechle, and
Megan Hintzman.
Throwers
Jackie Rosenbush,
Vanessa Thiel, and
Ally Oomens finish sixth through eighth in the weight throw. Oomens also finished third in the shot put at 35-3.25.
Up next, UWRF heads to Northfield, Minn., next Saturday, Feb. 12, to compete at the Meet of the Hearts, hosted by Carleton College.
