KENOSHA, Wis. – The UW-River Falls volleyball team split games in the Carthage Tournament Saturday afternoon.
Carthage 3, UW-River Falls 0
The Falcons suffered their first loss of the season falling to Carthage in three sets, 5-25, 18-25, and 22-25.
UWRF totaled 49 digs and held the Firebirds to just 38 total kills.
Kameri Meredith led the team with 10 kills and collected seven digs.
UW-River Falls 3, MSOE 0
The Falcons bounced back in the second match shutting out MSOE in three.
The Raiders challenged the Falcons in the first set taking them to 26-24. MSOE led 24-23 before Kate Seymore hit three kills to give the Falcons the win. UWRF used the momentum for the win to take the next two sets 25-12 and 25-11 respectively.
UWRF hit .317 overall and had a strong showing in the second set hitting .471.
Katie Koerper and
Kameri Meredith each had nine kills and
Sami Hilley hit .600.
The Falcons, now 8-1 overall, host UW-La Crosse in the WIAC opener September 14 at Page Arena.
