LA CROSSE, Wis. – The UW-River Falls volleyball team opened competition at the UW-La Crosse Invite Friday evening with a pair of 3-0 victories over Simpson College and Bethany Lutheran College.

The Falcons opened the weekend with a sweep over the Storm, limiting Simpson to a -.090 hitting percentage while attacking at a rate of .122.
UWRF made quick work of the Storm in the first two sets with duplicate scores of 25-14, and then pushed past Simpson in the third, 28-26.
The Falcons had their strongest set in the first, hitting .364 with 11 kills while forcing 11 Simpson errors.
Kameri Meredith and
Katie Koerper shared the team lead with 10 kills each.
UW-River Falls 3, Bethany Lutheran 0
The Falcons won 25-19, 25-20, and 25-17 while hitting .238 and forcing 22 Viking errors en route to the sweep.
UWRF totaled 43 kills compared to BLC's 25 and were led by Koerper's total of 11.
In the third set, the Falcons totaled 14 kills and just four errors for an attacking rate of .385.
Grace Boles totaled 16 assists while
Brenna Olson led the defense with 15 digs.
The Falcons, now 10-2 overall, have another pair of matches at the UW-La Crosse Invite tomorrow, facing Ripon and Edgewood.
