LA CROSSE, Wis. – The UW-River Falls volleyball team wrapped up competition at the UW-La Crosse Invitational on Saturday, sweeping Ripon College before a loss against Edgewood College.
UW-River Falls 3, Ripon 0
The Falcons defeated Ripon by scores of 25-20, 25-23, and 25-10 while hitting .189 and limiting Ripon to a .076 attacking rate.
Kameri Meredith led the Falcons with 20 kills, while
Katie Koerper led the defense with 14 digs.
Edgewood 3, UW-River Falls 1
After the Falcons bounced back after a 25-20 first set loss with a 25-16 set two victory. However, the Eagles took set three 28-26 and set four 25-18 to secure the 3-1 win.
UWRF hit .141 compared to Edgewood's .178.
Meredith led the Falcons again with 12 kills, while
Brooke Voigt led the defense with 23 digs.
The Falcons, now 11-3 overall, head back into WIAC play next Wednesday, Sept. 21, traveling to face UW-Eau Claire.
