RIVER FALLS, Wis. – The UW-River Falls volleyball team fell 3-0 (25-17, 25-20, 25-16) at No. 13-ranked UW-Eau Claire Wednesday evening.
The Falcons, now 11-4 overall and 0-2 in the WIAC, were limited to a .000 hitting percentage compared to a rate of .238 from the Blugolds.
Katie Koerper led the Falcon attack with nine kills, while
Brenna Olson totaled a team-high 11 digs.
The home team was strong out of the gate, forcing 11 Falcon errors in the first set. UWEC jumped out to a 12-5 lead and didn't look back to take the first set and grab a 1-0 lead.
UWRF hit .108 with 10 kills in the middle frame, its strongest of the match. UWRF tied the set up six times but but were unable to claim a lead and build momentum as the Blugolds prevailed to take a 2-0 lead, followed by a third set in which UWEC totaled 20 kills with an efficient .343 hitting percentage.
The Falcons head to the UW-Stevens Point Invite this weekend with three matches on deck.
