STEVENS POINT, Wis. – The UW-River Falls volleyball team picked up two wins in day one of the UW-Stevens Point Tournament Friday night.
UW-River Falls 3, St. Scholastica 1
The Falcons defeated the Saints of St. Scholastica by scores of 25-12, 17-25, 25-20, and 25-19. The Falcons hit .221 in the match while holding the Saints to a .173. Their biggest set came in the first when they hit .382 off of 17 kills.
Kameri Meredith led the Falcons with 19 kills and collected 23 digs for a double double.
Brooke Voigt led the defense with 33 digs.
UW-River Falls 3, St. Norbert 2
In the second match of the night, the Falcons battled St. Norbert to five sets winning 3-2. The Falcons took set one in a marathon set winning 29-27. St. Norbert took sets two and three winning 25-19 in both before the Falcons finished out the match with a 25-19 win and a 15-5 win.
The Falcons finished the night with a .230 attack percentage compared to St. Norberts .150.
Meredith led the Falcons again with a season high 25 kills, while
Brooke Voigt led the defense with 17 digs.
The Falcons, now 13-4 overall, face off against Concordia Wisconsin in day two of the UW-Stevens Point Tournament.
