SKINNER SELECTED TO TEAM USA WORLD UNIVERSITY GAMES
Junior goaltender
Dysen Skinner was selected to compete for Team USA in the 2023 FISU Winter World University Games, set to take place Jan. 11-21 in Lake Placid, N.Y.Â
Staged every two years in a different city, the Games are an international multi-sport event organized for university student-athletes by the International University Sports Federation (FISU). Teams from more than 50 nations will compete in 86 medal events. University students currently enrolled in an approved academic institution and proceeding toward a degree, or who have completed/obtained their degree in the calendar year preceding the Games are eligible.
The Team USA men's team is set to open round robin play on Wednesday, Jan. 11, when they host Great Britain at Clarkson University's Cheel Arena in Postdam, N.Y.
FALCON NOTES
- UWRFÂ is coming off a Dec. 9-10 weekend split versus UW-Stout, including a 1-0 victory for the Falcons' first WIAC win of the season.
- Four Falcons are tied for the team scoring lead with six points each, while Gibb Coady, Dylan Smith, Connor McGrath, and Billy Feczko each have three goals.
- Dysen Skinner has started in 11 of 12 games this season and leads the WIAC with 651 minutes played.
