SUPERIOR, Wis. – The UW-River Falls women's hockey team earned a weekend sweep over UW-Superior with a 9-0 win Saturday night.
UWRF, now 16-2 overall and 7-0 in the WIAC, scored a season-high 12 goals on Thursday over UWS, outscoring the Yellowjackets 21-1 through two games.
Paced by a hat trick from freshman forward
Megan Goodreau and two goals, two assists from
Maddie McCollins, the Falcons scored six goals in the first and a trio in the second to coast to victory.
McCollins opened the game with back-to-back unassisted goals, scoring the eventual game-winner four and a half minutes in. UWRF followed with four more goals, including Goodreau's natural hat-trick, as she scored three goals in a row.
On top of McCollins and Goodreau's performances,
Alex Hantge,
Abigail Stow, and
Bailey Olson each had multi-point efforts.
Jordan O'Connor made 11 saves to earn her third win in net and second shutout of the season.
UWRF hosts Northland College next weekend at Hunt Arena.
