RIVER FALLS, Wis. – The No. 1-ranked UW-River Falls women's hockey team swept Northland College in a shutout series defeating the LumberJills 8-0 Saturday afternoon.
Six different Falcons scored in the WIAC matchup. The Falcons opened the game with four goals in the first period.
Katherine Bell got the Falcons on the board first with a goal at 2:42.
Bailey Olson,
Kaitlyn Ronn and
Maddie McCollins followed with a goal each.
Megan Goodreau scored a singe goal in the second period.
The Falcons added three more goals in the final five minutes of the game. The goals came from Goodreau, McCollins and
Madison Lavergne.
Freshman goaltender
Jordan O'Kane collected her third win of the season. She had seven saves on the afternoon.
UWRF, now 18-2 overall and 8-0 in the WIAC, faceoff against No. 2-ranked Gustavus Adolphus Tuesday January 31 at 7:05 pm.
