MOORHEAD, Minn. – The No. 2-ranked UW-River Falls women's hockey team opened its non-conference series at Concordia College Friday evening with a 4-0 shutout.
The Falcons, now 10-2 overall, were led by four different goal scorers while outshooting the Cobbers 45-12 en route to their fourth shutout victory of the season.
Jordan O'Connor made her second start of the season in goal and tallied 12 saves to earn her fourth career shutout.
UWRF scored a trio of goals in the first period, including a power play goal from
Bailey Olson.
Megan Goodreau and
Emma Schmitz gave the Falcons a 2-0 lead, and
Ellie Brice scored the fourth in the middle frame.
Jessica Rubenalt had a pair of assists, while Schmitz and Olson each had two-point nights.
UWRF held Concordia scoreless on four power play tries.
The Falcons go for the sweep tomorrow afternoon at 2 p.m.
