RIVER FALLS, Wis. – The UW-River Falls women's basketball team 64-53 to UW-Oshkosh Saturday afternoon at Page Arena.
The Falcons, now 11-4 overall and 1-3 in the WIAC, trailed 17-2 early on and rallied to tie the game at 29-29 early in the second half. Oshkosh closed out the third quarter on a 12-2 run, however, and maintained a lead for the remainder of regulation.
UWO shot 10-of-14 in the first quarter to lead 23-14, but the Falcons held the Titans to just six points in the second, and a
Kameri Meredith layup cut the UWO lead to 29-27 at the half.
An
Annie Feine layup and a three-pointer from
Karleigh Creasey tied and gave UWRF a 32-29 lead early into the second half. Oshkosh reclaimed the lead shortly after though and didn't look back.
The Falcons forced 22 Titan turnovers, turning those into 27 points. Both teams scored 28 points in the paint while UWO held a 31-29 edge in rebounds.
Creasey led UWRF with 10 points.
UWRF hits the road next Wednesday to face UW-Stevens Point.
