RIVER FALLS, Wis. – The No. 4-ranked UW-River Falls women's hockey team defeated undefeated St. Mary's University 3-1 Saturday night at Hunt Arena.
The first goal came at 8:17 in the first period.
MaKenna Aure sent a shot from the blue line after the Falcons had won the faceoff.
The Falcons scored two more goals in the second period to take a 3-0 lead.
Aubrey Nelvin got the first goal at 3:13 and
Alex Hantge scored a power play goal at 9:16. The goal was Hantge's 100
th career point.
St. Mary's did score a lone goal in the second period at 14:53.
The Falcons outshot the Cardinals 45-24. Aure led the offense with eight shots on goal and collected one goal and two assists.
Jordan O'Connor had 23 saves in goal and only allowed one goal.
UWRF travels to UW-Stevens Point for the start of the WIAC season on Nov. 9. Puck drop is set for 7 pm.
