MADISON, Wis. - The Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (WIAC) announced its 2022-23 Women's Basketball postseason awards on Wednesday, March 1, with
Macy Nilsen representing UW-River Falls on the All-Conference Team.
Now a three-time All-WIAC award winner and two-time All-WIAC First Team honoree, Nilsen started in all 25 games this season and was a top-five scorer in the WIAC with 14.4 points per game. She also led the Falcons with 5.7 rebounds per game, made 37 three-pointers, ranked second in the conference with 86 made free throws, and was named the WIAC Player of the Week and UWRF Female Falcon of the Week three times.
Through six total games versus nationally-ranked UW-Whitewater, UW-Eau Claire, and WIAC Co-Champions UW-Stout, Nilsen averaged 19.3 points per game, totaling 28 rebounds 10 assists, and shot 16-of-41 from beyond the arc and 26-of-32 at the free throw line. She scored 24 points to lead UWRF to a win over No. 12 UW-Whitewater on Dec. 3 and tallied 19 points to lead UWRF to a win over over No. 14-ranked UW-Eau Claire on Jan. 25.
During the regular season finale on Feb. 15 versus UW-La Crosse, Nilsen scored seven points to eclipse 1,000 career points (including her freshman season at the University of Jamestown).
