RIVER FALLS, Wis. – The UW-River Falls men's hockey swept UW-Eau Claire with a 4-3 overtime win Saturday night at Hunt Arena.
It was the Falcons who got on the board first in the second period, when
Connor McGrath scored with less than one minute remaining.
In the start of the third the period, the Falcons took advantage of a power play opportunity.
Noah Ganske fired a shot that made it to the back of the net just 10 seconds into the power play.
The Blugolds scored three goals in the final half of the fourth period taking a 3-2 lead with just over a few minutes remaining in the period.

Dysen Skinner is the final minute and a half of the game giving them the additional skater.
Burke Simpson capitalized off this tying the game up 3-3 and forcing an overtime period.
Simpson wasted no time in the overtime period scoring the sudden death game winning goal 23 seconds in. Setting him up for the goal was
Connor McGrath.
The Falcons outshot the Blugolds 28-21. Falcon goaltender
Dysen Skinner had 18 saves. Leading the offense was
Burke Simpson who had two goals and an assist and
Connor McGrath who had one goal and two assists.
The Falcons, who are now 9-13-1, 3-9-1 WIAC, host Northland College in a two-night WIAC series February 10 and 11.
