OSHKOSH, Wis. – The UW-River Falls women's basketball team fell by a score of 54-44 at UW-Oshkosh Saturday afternoon.
Kameri Meredith led the Falcons with a career-high 19 points, shooting 8-of-14 from the field and 2-of-5 from beyond the arc.
Both teams were limited to under 40% shooting from the field, while the Titans held a slim 33-30 edge in rebounds. Meredith led the Falcons with eight rebounds.
The Falcons got off to a slow start, scoring just six points in the first quarter before trimming the Titan lead to 24-18 at the half.
In the third quarter, UWRF outscored UWO 16-10. Consecutive made field goals from Meredith,
Olivia Miron, and
Macy Nilsen tied the game at 34-34 heading into the final 10 minutes.
Oshkosh scored 20 points in the fourth quarter to sink the Falcons, making 10 free throws down the stretch.
UWRF, now 13-9 overall and 3-8 during WIAC play, returns to action next Wednesday, Feb. 8 versus UW-Stevens Point at Page Arena. In celebration of the 50th Anniversary ot Title IX and National Girls & Women in Sports, UWRF will be selling $10 pink Falcon beanies, admitting free admission for youth ages 18 & under, and hosting a postgame team poster signing.
