RIVER FALLS, Wis. – The top-ranked UW-River Falls women's hockey team earned a 12-2 non-conference win over the College of Saint Benedict Tuesday evening at Hunt Arena.
The Falcons scored 12 goals for the second game in a row and for the third time this season as nine different Falcons found the back of the net, combining for 33 points.
Alex Hantge (two goals, four assists) and
Abigail Stow (two goals, three assists) led the way.
Along with Hantge and Stow's two goals each,
Maddie McCollins added two goals and two assists, along with
Kenzie Dunn's first goal as a Falcon.
UWRF scored four in the first, six in the second, and another two in the third. The Falcons went 1-for-2 on the power play, won 39 of 58 faceoffs, and owned a 45-10 lead in shots in goal.
Sami Miller made eight saves in net, improving her record to 13-1 on the season.
The Falcon have the rest of the week off before returning to action Feb. 17-18 with its regular season finale series against UW-Eau Claire.
