RIVER FALLS, Wis. - The No. 1-ranked UW-River Falls women's hockey team earned a 6-1 nonconference victory over the College of St. Scholastica Tuesday evening at Hunt Arena to remain undefeated, extending the program record win streak to 15 games.
UWRF took a 2-0 lead in the first period with goals from
Megan Goodreau and
Madison Kadrlik.
Seven minutes into the middle frame, the Saints' Lauryn Hull broke
Jordan O'Connor's shutout to trim the UWRF lead to 2-1, but just 30 seconds later
Madison Lavergne gave the Falcons a two-goal lead again. Lavergne scored again soon after to record her third career multi-goal game.
Maddie McCollins opened the third period scoring on the power play, her team-leading 16
th goal of the season.
Alex Hantge added another goal late in regulation to increase the lead to 6-1.
UWRF outshot the Saints 51-11, including a 24-4 advantage in the second period.
Hantge led the Falcons with four points off a goal and a season-high three assists, while her linemate
Aubrey Nelvin also had three assists, a career-high.
Jordan O'Connor earned the win in net, making 10 saves to improve her record on the season to 11-0.
UWRF (15-0, 3-0 WIAC) heads back into league action this weekend hosting a two-game series against UW-Stevens Point.
