RIVER FALLS, Wis. – The UW-River Falls volleyball team fell in three sets against No. 18-ranked University of Northwestern Wednesday night at Page Arena.
The Falcons led 44-37 in total kills but the Eagles had 10 aces, 10 blocks, and forced 25 Falcon errors to come away with the win.
UWRF hung in with UNW in sets one and three, falling by scores of 25-23. The middle frame was lopsided in favor of Northwestern, 25-12 as UNW hit .400 in the second set with 13 kills and just one error to take a 2-0 lead.
Trailing by two sets to none, the Falcons battled in the third set, trailing by as many as 11-3 early before rallying late with a five-point streak to tie the score at 22-22, but the visitors took three of the last four points to close out the set and win.

Amanda Baumann paced the Falcon attack, both hitting over .400. Adebisi had 12 kills while Buamann had eight, and
Lauren Noth led the Falcons with 15 kills.
Abbi Hassforth led the team with 24 assists, followed by a career-high 16 from
Olivia Noble.
Audrey Petersen led the defense with 19 digs.
UWRF (10-17, 1-3 WIAC) remains at home this Saturday, hosting both No. 7-ranked UW-Whitewater and Macalester College.
