No. 1 Falcons earn first WIAC win, routing Northland

ASHLAND, Wis. - The top-ranked UW-River Falls women's hockey team earned an 11-0 win at Northland College Saturday afternoon, the Falcons' first conference win of the year.

UWRF's Division III record unbeaten streak is extended to 37 consecutive games dating back to 2023, improving the 2024-25 overall record to 4-0-2 and 1-0-1 WIAC.

The Falcons used a pair of goals in the first, five in the second, and four in the third period while shutting out the Lumberjills.

The high-scoring effort was led by MaKenna Aure's first career hat trick and two goals from Madison Kadrlik. Freshman goaltender Olivia Hansen made her first appearance in net and made six saves en route to earning her first career win and shutout.

UWRF tallied 61 shots on goal while limiting the home team to six shots on target. Eight Falcons had at least four shots on net, including six each from Payton Hixson and Allisen Carothers.

Outside of Aure's hat trick and Madison Kadrlik's two goals, Megan Goodreau, Payton Hixson, Bailey Olson, Brooke Lemke, Brooke Lemke, and Makenna Kadrlik found back of the net. Six Falcons had a pair of assists.

The Falcons continue conference play next Saturday, Nov. 23, hosting UW-Eau Claire.
