MADISON, Wis. - The Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (WIAC) announced its 2024 Football postseason awards Thursday, Nov. 21, with 12 student-athletes representing UW-River Falls, including five Falcons on the First Team and
Aaron Borgerding selected as the Max Sparger Scholar Athlete.
In total, UWRF compiled 13 All-WIAC selections represented by 12 Falcons, including
Gage Timm earning First Team honors on special teams and Second Team honors on defense. Five Falcons were selected to the First Team;
Ethan Sigler,
Carson Steen,
Aaron Borgerding,
Dylan Brown, and Timm.
UWRF placed four on the Second Team;
Ben Wesolowski,
Ian Gould, Timm, and
Justin Scheberl.
Austin Fox,
Michael Krueger, and
Andrew Schumacher were Honorable Mentions. In addition,
Michael Brown was selected to the All-Sportsmanship Team.
During the 2024 season, the Falcons turned in a 7-3 overall record and 4-3 conference ledger, the program's fourth consecutive winning season. The Falcons got off to a 4-0 start and were ranked as high as No. 4 in Division III in a pair of national polls. UWRF had a pair of wins over nationally ranked opponents, including a 41-35 win at No. 7-ranked Alma College during the season opener on Sept. 7, and a 28-14 win over No. 19 UW-Oshkosh during the season finale on Nov. 16.
Offensive lineman
Ethan Sigler started in all 10 games and was a catalyst in UWRF's WIAC-leading offense that totaled 444.8 yards per game, 39.7 points per game, and 260 first downs (6th/NCAA Division III).
Joining Sigler on the First Team was four defensive players;

Dylan Brown.
Gage Timm served as UWRF's punter, a starting linebacker, and made a difference on special teams with a pair of blocked kicks. The group of four led the Falcon defense that led the WIAC with four defensive touchdowns, 18 interceptions, 189.9 passing yards allowed per game, and 13 turnovers gained. Timm was the WIAC leader with 15.5 tackles for loss.
