Women's Hockey opens new year with road series at Concordia

The No. 2/3-ranked UWRF women's hockey team returns to action and opens the 2025 calendar year on the road with a non-conference series at Concordia College Jan. 3-4.

  • The Falcons remain ranked No. 2 in the most recent USCHO.com Division III poll and are ranked No. 3 in the latest DIII Hockey News national poll.
  • UWRF is looking to snap a two-game losing skid, the program's first two losses in a row since 2019, coming off a 7-2 loss at No. 5-ranked Gustavus Adolphus College on Dec. 10.
    • UWRF's NCAA Division III record 40-game overall unbeaten streak came to an end on Sunday, Dec. 8 during a 3-1 loss at No. 4-ranked Adrian College in Adrian Mich. 
  • During UWRF's season-opening win over CSB, UWRF extended its winning streak to 32 games dating back to last season, breaking a NCAA Division III record for overall winning streak, besting Middlebury's record of 31 set from 2021-22. 
    • With the Nov. 15 draw against UW-Stevens Point, UWRF broke another Division III record for overall unbeaten streak at 36 consecutive games. The streak bests Plattsburgh State's unbeaten run from 2006-07.
  • Megan Goodreau is UWRF's leading scorer with 19 points (6 goals, 13 assists) and is the DIII national leader with 1.9 points per game. She reached 100 career points during the No. 26 road win over St. Olaf College.
  • Katherine Bell is tied for the nation's lead in goals per game with 11 goals in 11 games.
  • UWRF's scoring offense leads all of DIII with 5.4 goals per game.
  • The reigning AHCA National Coach of the Year, Joe Cranston, is one win away from 500 in his career, sitting on 499 career wins in his 26th season leading the Falcons.
